Lindsey Davis is best known for her Falco detective series and The Course of Honour. She has won many awards for her books and she has a huge fan base. Nineteen Falco books have been released (yes 19 – can you believe it?) and the first book called Silver Pigs is so scarce that it fetches thousands of pounds. Then recently we were amazed to find out that a brand new book called Rebels and Traitors was being released in September. And we were honoured when Lindsey signed, stamped, lined, dated and numbered 20 rare books. To make these even more collectable they actually have a Falco Stamp inside each book with a quote from Falco “What do you mean I’m not in this one?”.
No doubt these are incredibly collectable. These 20 rare books were done exclusively and will not be repeated again. You might also know that Lindsey has been featured in the Book and Magazine Collector. There was a fantastic article all about her – if you get chance you must read it.
So Rebels and Traitors is an epic masterpiece and is definitely one to watch!
Product Description
Set against the terrible struggle of the English Civil War and the dark plots of the Commonwealth, “Rebels and Traitors” tells of soldiers, adventurers, aristocrats and kings, tradesmen, politicians, radicals and scavengers – and the hopes and dreams that carried them through one of the most turbulent eras of English history. Men who never imagined fighting a war gladly risk their lives; women strive to keep families and businesses together through years of deprivation; and, innocents are caught up in bloodshed and terror. After years of struggle Gideon Jukes and Juliana Lovell, on opposite sides of the Parliamentarian/Royalist divide, are brought together by fate on one of the significant dates of the struggles and its aftermath. After adversity and loss, their mutual attraction may one day bring the comfort and companionship for which they both have yearned through a disastrous war. But a dark shadow lurks over them and even in peace the past is not far behind. “Rebels and Traitors” is an absolute epic masterpiece, poignant and convincing characterisation and razor-sharp historical realism.
